Memorial Bench & Tree Plaques: Atlantic Canada Ordering Guide
A memorial plaque can honour a loved one on a bench, beside a tree, or in a private garden. For a public park, start with the municipality’s programme: it may provide the plaque, restrict its size and wording, or allow you to supply your own.
Choose your plaque
Explore our custom bench plaques, tree dedication plaques, and machined brass and bronze memorial plaques. For private property, choose a size and layout that suit the location. For municipal installations, send the current requirements before ordering: a standard product size may not fit the programme’s recess or mounting arrangement.

Atlantic Canada programme examples
Official sources checked 5 October 2026. These examples help you plan; they do not establish approval for a Legacy plaque.
St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador
The City’s current commemorative-programme webpage says contributors may supply a bronze plaque measuring 7.6 cm × 25 cm at their own cost, for the City to install. That is approximately 3 × 9.84 inches; use the City’s confirmed metric dimensions when requesting a quote. Check location availability and approval before ordering.
An older application form, updated 22 August 2022, gives different requirements: brass, 7.5 cm × 25.5 cm. Confirm the current material and dimensions directly with the City rather than choosing between these documents yourself. See the current City programme.
Saint John, New Brunswick — 2026 programme
The 2026 applicant guidelines specify a placard 3.5 × 12 × ⅛ inches, inset into the upper bench backrest. The package includes the placard and installation; only the approved style is allowed, with lettering and no symbols or graphics. The guidelines do not specify a plaque alloy.
2026 applications are closed. Use this size as a reference for that programme, not as instructions to buy a separate plaque or as a promise about a future season. Check the City’s programme status.
Fredericton, New Brunswick
The City’s commemorative bench and tree packages include a plaque and installation, with final approval by the City. The programme webpage does not give physical plaque dimensions. Arrange the donation through the programme before purchasing an independent plaque. See Fredericton’s programme.
What to confirm before ordering
- Permission and supplier: who owns the site, and does the programme allow a donor-supplied plaque?
- Size and material: exact outer dimensions, thickness, required metal and any specified manufacturing method.
- Mounting: recess dimensions, screw-hole positions and installation responsibility.
- Wording: approved text, dates, symbols and layout, plus any character limits.
- Timing: the approval and installation schedule, quantity and delivery location.
Our plaques are machined from solid metal. If a programme requires casting or a particular alloy, include that requirement so we can review it before quoting.
