• Industrial Bimetallic Upgrades

For high-volume shops, we offer a specialized bimetallic upgrade combining a solid brass backing with a stainless steel face. The brass ensures rapid, uniform heat transfer, while the steel face is 8x harder than aluminum—protecting delicate logo details from heavy workshop wear.

  • Stress-Relieved for Zero Warp

Cheap branding irons warp under heat because deep engraving unbalances the internal stresses of raw metal. Before machining, we thermally stress-relieve our brass using a strict 5-hour kiln-soaking process. This recrystallizes the grain structure, ensuring your branding iron remains perfectly flat and never distorts.

  • Perfect Alignment, Zero Rotation

A standard round iron can easily twist in your hand, resulting in a crooked brand. Our signature square and rectangular bodies allow you to register the flat edge directly against a guide or jig, ensuring flawless, perfectly straight orientation every single time.

Ordering Specs & Details

Standard vs. professional electric handles

We offer two main types of electric branding handles: standard electric and professional 500-watt electric.

Our standard electric handles are well-built and work well for smaller to mid-size branding heads. They use a single heat source and are plugged directly into the wall, so they do not automatically regulate temperature.

Our professional 500-watt electric unit has a built-in thermostat with an adjustable temperature set point. It monitors and regulates the temperature automatically, making it suitable for wood, leather, and some plastics.

The professional unit also uses a more advanced heating system with dual heating elements spread across a mounting deck. This provides faster heat recovery and more stable temperature control, especially when branding larger items or doing batch production.

For occasional use or smaller brands, the standard electric handle is usually sufficient. For larger branding heads, repeated branding, coasters, production batches, or applications where temperature control is important, we recommend the professional 500-watt unit.

Electric vs. flame-heated branding irons

Both electric and flame-heated branding irons can produce excellent results.

Electric branding irons are the more popular option because they are more consistent and easier to use. Each electric handle is selected based on the size of the branding head, so the wattage is properly matched for reliable branding temperature.

Flame-heated branding irons are a great alternative for smaller sizes. They heat quickly, are more affordable, and the shorter handle makes it easier to get close to the workpiece for careful alignment.

With flame heating, there is more trial and error involved. We recommend testing on scrap pieces of the same wood species before branding your finished workpiece.

For larger branding irons, especially sizes around 2.5" x 2.5" and above, flame heating becomes less practical. Larger brands can take 8–10 minutes or more to heat, depending on the size, so the cost savings may be reduced after only a few uses.

For larger branding heads, such as 4" x 4", the electric option is usually the best choice. If you are on a budget, another good option is to heat the branding iron on an infrared hot plate. We recommend an 1800-watt unit, which is commonly available online and relatively inexpensive.

How does the ordering process work?

Before ordering, the best option is to send us your design along with the size you would like. We can confirm whether the design is suitable for that size and whether it is likely to brand properly.

We will review your file, prepare a mockup if needed, and send you the link to the correct product and pricing.

When you submit a logo through our website, a file is automatically created and linked to your name and email address. If you later place an order using the same name and email, your logo will be linked to that order.

You can submit your logo by clicking “Submit Logo” in the top navigation menu.

If you already know exactly what you want and are confident the design will work at the selected size, you can also attach your logo during checkout.

For more detailed designs, we can also show you where the logo may be more likely to bleed or lose detail during branding.

What type of file should I send?

We accept almost any image file, photograph or vector file, including high-quality black and white images, logos, and even hand sketches.

We are experienced with cleaning up and redrawing from low-resolution files and preparing designs for branding.

For the highest accuracy, you may send a true vector file such as SVG, EPS, PDF, or AI. However, please do not use online tools to convert an image into a vector file, as this can often make the file harder to work with.

If you do not have a true vector file, simply send us the best version of the file you have.

How deep is the logo engraved?

Our Brands are milled down to a deep 0.125" relief with a 30° taper angle, utilizing a 100-micron tip—the finest micro-detailing tool available on the market. This deep, precise clearance ensures your logo leaves a flawless mark without ever leaving accidental background witness marks on your workpiece.

Do you offer logo design help?

Yes. We are happy to help prepare a logo or design for your branding iron.

Our specialty is helping customers turn a clear idea into a usable branding design. If you know what you want, but need help putting it into a clean layout, we can usually help.

We can also provide a free mockup before you place an order, so you can see how the design may look.

If you are looking for multiple completely different logo concepts, brand identity work, or a full design exploration, that may be better suited to a dedicated graphic designer.
